MARKUS NICK
WEST CANADA & THE CANADIAN ROCKIES

I started lazy. After a few kilometers, I stopped at the Kalamalka Lake. I had a longer sunbath and went swimming at Kal Beach at the north end of the lake. Afterwards, I headed for Revelstoke. On the road, I stopped at a fruit stand to fill my stock of fresh fruit for the next days.

I arrived at the parking lot at the end of the Meadows in the Sky Parkway in Revelstoke National Park at 3pm. Unfortunately, this was too late for the 20-22km hike to all lakes (Miller Lake, Eva Lake, and Jade Lakes).

Miller Lake (90min) was not too bad. However, the mosquitoes were very nasty and enforced my decision to go on.

Eva Lake (another 15min) was pretty nice: Embedded in alpine meadows and with good views to the mountain ranges around.
