MARKUS NICK
WEST CANADA & THE CANADIAN ROCKIES

Vancouver gave me a wet welcome for the start of the holiday and showed the British side of its weather (i.e., frequent rain showers). So, the best choice for such weather is definitely a museum visit. A potentially interesting museum was not too hard to find: The UBC Museum of Anthropology.

The UBC Museum of Anthropology (http://www.moa.ubc.ca) offers a good, large collection of objects from the native cultures of British Columbia. Nice, comprehensive multi-media explanations of the artifacts are available.
You can also access the extensive open storage system of the museum, which makes more than 14000(!) objects accessible to the public. Although, this requires some sense for discovery ;-)

p.s. Thanx to Mirjam and Jörg for joining me for the UBC museum. They also convinced me that I should join them and Frodu for the Bard-on-the-Beach Shakespeare Festival - so I got my share of cultural events for this year as well ;-)
